surroundings

Gîte Pouget is surrounded by fields, vineyards and forests, 2 km from the village of Montréal du Gers.

The Gers is a very vast department belonging to the Occitanie region.

The Gers département is located west of Toulouse, right in the heart of the historic region of Gascony. In the Middle Ages, this region was the frontier between the English base at Bordeaux and the French at Toulouse. This has resulted in an abundance of fortified places or bastides in this region

There are many sights and sports activities to practice in this region. See below for more information.

These websites https://www.tourisme-condom.com/ contains a lot of information about what to do, restaurants, culture, sports activities, etc. https://www.tourisme-gers.com

Gastronomy

Gascony is a gastronome's paradise, famous for its foie gras, confits and magret (duck breast). Fresh produce from local farmers is available weekly at the local markets. Every day there is a market in a neighboring village. Excellent wines and Armagnac are produced by the vineyards located throughout the area.
